Booktown on Sunday - immerse yourself in Clunes, from cover to cover!   Our featured speaker is Mark Smith, Author of "Where Truth Ends".   Meg Maher thought she was doing the right thing. Now she's on the run. When a peaceful climate protest ends with a violent explosion in the city centre, every member of the protest group becomes a suspect. The incident is declared a terrorist attack. But the authorities aren't the only ones hunting Meg. Scared and alone, Meg seeks refuge with her father, Luke, knowing that every word she says puts him in danger too. But as the terrorism investigation closes in, Meg is forced to question everything: her friends, her cause, even herself. Was her group of activists infiltrated from the start? Or has someone twisted their mission beyond recognition? What happens when the truth is the first thing to burn? Where Truth Ends is a taut, character-driven thriller by award-winning author of Three Boys Gone Mark Smith, about what happens when the fight for change becomes a fight for survival.   Held on the second Sunday of each the month, to tie in with the wonderful Clunes Farmers and Makers Market in the morning, so plan for a lovely drive into town, catch the train, or stay the weekend! (https://www.clunesbooktown.org.au/stay-in-clunes/)   We throw open the doors of our lovely historic home of the Clunes Railway Station with an author talk at 2:00pm - so there is ample time to explore the market and grab a bite of lunch before hand.   $5 admission. Drinks at bar prices, along with networking opportunities afterwards.

Booktown on Sunday - immerse yourself in Clunes, from cover to cover!   Join Tess Brady in conversation with Andrea Goldsmith, author of The Buried Life.   Three people form an unlikely but spirited connection. Adrian is a renowned scholar, an expert on death in the modern age whose life has stalled. Kezi, a young and passionate artist, has been rejected by her family. She hurtles through her days with defiance and regret. Laura is a successful town planner submerged in a seemingly perfect marriage. In The Buried Life Andrea Goldsmith brilliantly dissects the conflicts and complexities of contemporary life in a story of love and friendship, faith and fundamentalism, subtly underscored by the power of poetry and music. You can stifle the past but it will breathe again.   Held on the second Sunday of each the month, to tie in with the wonderful Clunes Farmers and Makers Market in the morning, so plan for a lovely drive into town, catch the train, or stay the weekend!
