Booktown on Sunday - October 2025
About this event
Booktown on Sunday - immerse yourself in Clunes, from cover to cover!
Our featured speaker is Andrea Richards, President of the Jane Austen Society of Melbourne
Jane Austen's importance stems from her groundbreaking contributions to literature, including her realistic portrayal of social life, insightful character development, and innovative use of narrative techniques. Her novels, though set in a specific time and place, continue to resonate with readers due to their exploration of universal themes like love, social class, and gender roles.
Held on the second Sunday of each the month, to tie in with the wonderful Clunes Farmers and Makers Market in the morning, so plan for a lovely drive into town, catch the train, or stay the weekend! (https://www.clunesbooktown.org.au/stay-in-clunes/)
We throw open the doors of our lovely historic home of the Clunes Railway Station at 1:00pm, for a pre-loved book stall, with an author talk to follow at 2:00pm - so there is ample time to explore the market and grab a bite of lunch before hand.
Drinks available to buy throughout the author talk, along with networking opportunities afterwards.
