Our featured speaker is Emily Noble, Secretary of the Field Naturalist’s Club of Ballarat
Â
The Field Naturalist’s Club of Ballarat recently published their second edition of Discovering Ballarat’s Bushland with up-to-date details of 37 natural places within 40km of the Ballarat district. The book contains flora and fauna notes for each site along with information on location, facilities, history and geology.
Delightful local spots such as Mt Beckworth, Dunach Nature Conservation Reserve, Clunes State Forest, Merin Merin, and; Middle Swamp Wildlife Reserves are covered, along with at least ten other reserves within a 30-minute drive of Clunes.
Although the title refers to bushland, special sites of native grasslands and wetlands are included too, catering for anyone interested in nature.
Â
Held on the second Sunday of each the month, to tie in with the wonderful Clunes Farmers and Makers Market in the morning, so plan for a lovely drive into town, catch the train, or stay the weekend! (https://www.clunesbooktown.org.au/stay-in-clunes/)
Â
We throw open the doors of our lovely historic home of the Clunes Railway Station at 1:00pm, for a pre-loved book stall, with an author talk to follow at 2:00pm -Â so there is ample time to explore the market and grab a bite of lunch before hand.
Â
Drinks available to buy throughout the author talk, along with networking opportunities afterwards.
